In the last five years, it has developed over 450 new products, winning very important international awards in its category. Mercur has also won national awards such as the ‚"Melhores Marcas 2008‚" (Best Brands), which Mercur was reviewed in 10 categories against 20 brands and consistently counted in the top positions. Mercur was cited as the leading brand in erasers for the eighth consecutive year and was given 2nd place in glue sticks and 3rd place in liquid glues. Additionally, for the first time, Mercur was rated a leading brand in the Mechanical Pencil category. Company History In 1924, the Hoelzel brothers' developed the first rubber based-products of the company, followed by incorporating the first rubber product plant within the Southern Region of Brazil, in Santa Cruz do Sul. For more than 80 years, Mercur has been providing new innovations leading to quality products. Mercur's success in the past 70 years has created such great growth, that in 1996, its business was divided into three separate units:

• Stationery: including school items and office products, such as erasers, glues and correction fluids, among others.
• Flooring and laminates: in charge of the development and production of floorings, and industrial rubber sheets.
• Body Care: commercializing the most complete line of therapeutic products for health treatment, prevention and preserve.
