In Honor of New GM, Mercur Announces Back to School Sale
Miami, April 28, 2008 – Mercur, a leading manufacturer of the highest quality school and fine arts supplies including erasers and pencils, names Cláudio Fernando Felker Andreis as General Manager of their North American operations.
Claudio is heading Mercur’s North American office in Miami, Fl., where he is responsible for extending the company’s distribution networks, both through educational and art supply wholesalers and retailers, as well as developing promotions and marketing activities throughout the US.
Claudio brings extensive experience as an export manager for Brazilian-based Mercur, where he handled international sales, marketing and the development of new markets. During his tenure as an export manager, Claudio helped dramatically grow Mercur’s global reach beyond Brazil, as the company went from offering products in seven countries, to 27 countries.
“It is a great opportunity to head our North American headquarters and bring Mercur’s high quality products to the US marketplace,” said Andreis. “Our Miami office allows Mercur to have a stronger, physical presence in the US and provide the level of service our customers have grown accustom to since our inception 84 years ago,” added Andreis.
In honor of naming their first General Manager for North America, Mercur USA also announced an ambitious “Back to School” sale of 20% off of all products. “Our Back to School promotions are designed with our customers’ needs in mind to help them plan for the 2008-2009 school year,” added Andreis.
